HDCP 2.2

Now One supports video streaming in 4K UHD for selected movies and TV program

4K Ultra High Definition (4K Ultra HD or 4K UHD) offers enhanced picture resolution up to 2160p—which is four times greater than HD.

You will be prompted to change to 2160kp25 or 2160kp50 whenever your UHD TV is compatible. Your screen may flicker briefly or turn black while your TV display changes to 4K UHD resolution.

System Requirements

To watch videos in 4K UHD on Now One, you need a compatible Ultra HD TV with at least one HDMI input that supports HDCP 2.2 content protection standards.

HDCP is an access control technology required by most content providers to play back protected digital content. You can only watch videos in 4K UHD from Now TV if your Now One is connected to an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2. Any other devices that are parts of your home theater setup (e.g. HDMI receivers, sound bars, etc.) need to support HDCP 2.2 as well.

Now One automatically detect whether HDCP 2.2 requirements are met. You can also check to see whether your TV supports HDCP 2.2 from your TV manufacturer.

Check the “Mobile High-Definition Link” (MHL), “HDCP 2.2”, “UHD”, “4K”, or “HDMI 2.0” ports on your TV–they typically support HDCP 2.2.

Here also is general guidance on which device ports support HDCP 2.2 for popular Ultra HD TV brands:

  • LG –  Port 1 for most models
  • Samsung – All ports or MHL
  • Sony – Port 1 and Port 2 for most models
  • B&O – Port 1

The user guide or product packaging for your Ultra HD TV may specify whether HDCP 2.2 is supported, as well.
If you need more help, we recommend contacting the TV or device manufacturer directly to confirm.
